• Parent of three students (now in PhD program, college, and high school)

• College essay obsessive since high school. Seventeen-year-old me wrote about my affection for the TV drama Gideon’s Trumpet and‍ ‍linked the story of an imprisoned man’s quest to secure his right to an attorney with my aspiration to become a public defender. I probably used too much lofty language, but it was all mine. I knew my job was to sway the admissions jury. Adult me wants one more chance to edit that essay.
